Virtual clinic

Find answers to your health questions with a visit to our virtual clinic, where online providers offer a fast and convenient diagnosis or treatment options.

Virtual clinic for common illnesses

Get convenient online care for acute conditions, including a diagnosis and prescription, if needed.

Our Virtual Clinic

This service provides an online consultation that begins with your answers to a 15-minute survey about your symptoms. Next, an online provider (physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant) reads your questionnaire and completes a diagnosis. The final step is creating a treatment plan, including any needed medications.

Our clinic is open for your needs every day from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Your visit cost is payable by major credit card, whether you have insurance or not. You may submit a survey at any time, and surveys submitted after 7:00pm will be answered the next day from 7:00am to 8:00am.

Lab verification for clinic diagnoses

Some strep throat and flu consultations require an extra step beyond an online visit. We handle such situations through a ZipTicket, an order from a Virtual Clinic provider for a rapid test to confirm a specific diagnosis. Here's how the process works:

  • As a clinic patient, you can select the nearest ZipTicket location, walk in without an appointment and complete rapid testing with minimal wait time.
  • To activate your ZipTicket, choose the location and arrive within 24 hours. Since you have already seen a medical provider online, you will check in at the front desk and be seen by the next available medical assistant or nurse. Once the medical personnel complete the testing and enter the results through our online portal, you'll receive the final diagnosis and prescription (if applicable) online. You are not charged a separate fee for the visit to the ZipTicket location, since you were charged for the virtual visit online.

Your symptoms may need a remedy beyond an online session. In that instance, we will direct you to the care you need. If you have questions about your consultation's treatment plan, call our Virtual Clinic's customer support team at (828) 222-7962.

Frequently asked questions

Here are commonly asked questions about our Virtual Clinic.

What is the online clinic?

At our Virtual Clinic, we're careful to offer consultations online on health conditions selected for safe diagnosis and treatment. If an online diagnosis is unsuitable for you, we will direct you to the care you need.

Who makes the diagnoses?

Once you complete the online interview, a certified medical provider will review your answers, diagnose your symptoms and develop a unique treatment plan.

How long does it take?

A clinic visit begins with an online interview, which takes approximately 15 minutes. Your condition's total number of questions will vary depending on your symptoms and answers.

Note: The interview is written questions/answers only; there is no interactive video component.

What age ranges do you treat?

Depending upon your condition, you're eligible for care if you live in North Carolina and are between the ages of two and 65.

Can I get a prescription?

If appropriate, we can prescribe medications that will be sent to the pharmacy of your choice, since our clinic is not an online pharmacy. We do not provide prescriptions for pain medications or narcotics. You are responsible for the cost of any medicines, over-the-counter treatments or follow-up visits you may need. Because our providers are licensed only in North Carolina, you must be physically located in North Carolina to access our services.
